The Secretaría de Marina, involved from day one

Every catamaran we build goes through a supervised construction process. Mexico's Secretaría de Marina (SEMAR) conducts several inspections during key stages of construction, verifying materials, structure, and lamination processes. This ongoing oversight isn't an added formality — it's part of our commitment to safety and to the standards the marine industry requires of any vessel that will navigate Mexican waters.

This close relationship with the maritime authority culminates in two moments that, for the entire SNM team, are the most exciting of the whole process: the launch and the sea trial.

What does a sea trial involve?

Once the catamaran has been launched, it's time to take it out on the water. The sea trial is carried out together with our specialized factory team and with the corresponding authority on board. During this navigation, a series of technical tests are performed to confirm the vessel is in optimal seaworthy condition, including:

• Vessel behavior at different speeds and maneuvers
• Performance of engines, propulsion, and steering systems
• Hull stability and response under real navigation conditions
• Review of electrical, bilge, and onboard safety systems
• General verification that everything built on land performs correctly on the water

Only once all these tests are completed successfully does the authority give the green light to the vessel. That moment officially marks the catamaran as ready to sail.

The best part: delivering it to its owner

If the sea trial is one of our favorite moments, the one that follows is even better: delivering the vessel to its owner. After months of craftsmanship and technical work — from the very first mold to the final test on the water — watching a client step aboard their catamaran for the first time, already certain it has been tested and approved, is the reason we do what we do.
