More Than 20 Years Building Catamarans: The People Behind Every Contoy Project

The People Behind Every Contoy Project

For more than 20 years, we have been building boats, and there is something that still excites us just as much today: meeting the people behind every new project. At Contoy Boats, we build catamarans primarily for companies and tour operators. Every vessel is created with a purpose, a route, and a real operation behind it. But before construction begins, we have the opportunity to meet the people who imagined that project in the first place.

And that is one of our favorite parts.

Over the years, we have worked with family-owned businesses, experienced tour operators, entrepreneurs starting a new venture, and people who have dedicated much of their lives to the sea, sailing, and the boating industry.

Many of them come to our factory looking for a catamaran. During the process, we end up talking about much more. We talk about routes, passengers, previous experiences, ideas that worked, and lessons learned along the way. We talk about navigation, sailing, destinations, and often about how their business began.

Every Catamaran Begins With a Conversation

Before we talk about specifications, capacity, or equipment, we need to understand the operation.
Where will the catamaran operate? How many passengers will it carry? What kind of experience does the company want to offer? Will it be a sailing catamaran or a power catamaran? What will its day-to-day operation look like?

These conversations allow us to design and build a vessel around a real operation. But they also give every project its own story.

Behind a catamaran carrying 60, 100, or 150 passengers, there is much more than a boat. There is a company making an important decision about its future. There are years of hard work, a business that continues to grow, and in many cases, a family that has built its story around the sea.

That is why, for us, building a Contoy Catamaran is never simply about building a boat.
It is about becoming part of the next chapter of a company. From Our Factory to the CaribbeanOver the years, we have watched Contoy Catamarans leave our factory in Mexico and begin operations in destinations across the Caribbean. Every delivery represents months of engineering, manufacturing, and work by our team. But it also represents the beginning of a new chapter for our clients. That is why one of the moments we enjoy most does not necessarily happen when the catamaran reaches the water.

Sometimes, it happens much earlier — when we first meet the people who arrive at our factory with an idea and begin turning that idea into a real project together.

More Than a Project. We build boats. That is what we do.

But after more than 20 years in this industry, we know that it is also built around people who share something very simple: a love for the sea.

To our clients, to the families we have met, and to the companies that have trusted our factory throughout the years: thank you.

Thank you for sharing much more than a project with us.
We share a passion, an industry, and above all, a love for the sea.
